CPCU Prep Course
For those new to the insurance industry, or for experienced employees who wish to enhance their competencies and work profile, achieving the CPCU designation has long been a gold standard in insurance.
St. John’s Tobin Center for Executive Education (the Center) has long offered CPCU exam preparation courses in an instructor-led classroom format. With the current environment precluding face-to-face programs, but still recognizing that many exam-takers want to enrich their experience through instructor-led discussion and insight, starting in Fall 2020, the Center will offer CPCU Exam Preparation courses in a virtual, remote, instructor-led format.
The virtual classes will review each assignment of the Institutes' newly revised online CPCU courses. The program will first cover the core courses in sequence:
CPCU 500: Managing Evolving Risks (formerly Foundations of Risk Management and Insurance)
CPCU 520: Connecting the Business of Insurance Operations (formerly Insurance Operations)
CPCU 530: Navigating the Legal Landscape of Insurance (formerly Business Law for Insurance Professionals)
CPCU 540: Impacting the Bottom Line of Insurance Financials (formerly Finance and Accounting for Insurance Professionals)Format of Program
Each virtual class will run for approximately an hour, generally on Wednesdays, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, starting in early September 2020. Each session will focus on one assignment, or chapter, of the materials. There will typically be ten classes for each CPCU Exam preparation course, with the final class focusing on a practice exam.
