CPCU 500: Managing Evolving Risks
Background
For those new to the insurance industry, or for experienced employees who wish to enhance their competencies and work profile, achieving the CPCU designation has long been a gold standard in insurance.
The Tobin Center for Executive Education at St. John's University has long offered CPCU exam preparation courses in an instructor-led classroom format. With the current environment precluding face-to-face programs, but still recognizing that many exam-takers want to enrich their experience through instructor-led discussion and insight, starting in Fall 2020, the Center will offer CPCU Exam Preparation courses in an online, instructor-led format.
The virtual classes will review each assignment of The Institutes' newly revised online CPCU courses. The first course is CPCU 500: Managing Evolving Risks (formerly Foundations of Risk Management and Insurance). which begins Wednesday, September 30.
Subsequent courses will be:
CPCU 520: Connecting the Business of Insurance Operations (formerly Insurance Operations)
CPCU 530: Navigating the Legal Landscape of Insurance (formerly Business Law for Insurance Professionals)
CPCU 540: Impacting the Bottom Line of Insurance Financials (formerly Finance and Accounting for Insurance Professionals)
Each virtual class will run for approximately an hour from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. CPCU 500 will run over nine sessions, with each session focusing on one assignment. The last session will consist of an exam review.
Class Dates: September 30th, October 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th, November 4th, 11th and 18th, December 2nd and 9th.
